Legal Hotline is operated by Platfirm AI Pty Ltd, ABN 24 679 859 744, an Australian company.
These Terms apply to users in Canada who use ca.legal-hotline.com, contact Legal Hotline, request legal information, join a launch list, request a lawyer callback, or book a lawyer consultation where available.
Legal Hotline provides general legal information through an AI-powered assistant.
The AI assistant is not a lawyer, not a paralegal, and not a regulated Canadian legal professional.
The service does not provide legal advice and does not create a solicitor-client, lawyer-client, or paralegal-client relationship.
Legal advice can only be provided by an appropriately licensed Canadian lawyer, Québec advocate or notary, immigration consultant where permitted, paralegal where permitted, or other regulated professional acting within their lawful scope.
Canada has federal, provincial, and territorial laws. Québec has a distinct civil law system for many civil matters.
You are responsible for telling us the province or territory connected with your matter. General information may not apply if the wrong jurisdiction is identified.
When you use Legal Hotline, you may interact with an AI assistant. The AI assistant may sound conversational, but it is not human and is not a lawyer.
AI-generated information may contain errors, omissions, or outdated material.
Using Legal Hotline does not create a professional-client relationship with Legal Hotline or Platfirm AI Pty Ltd.
A professional-client relationship may only arise if an independent Canadian legal professional agrees to act for you.
Where available, Legal Hotline may help you request contact from an independent Canadian legal professional.
Participating lawyers and firms are independent. They are not employees or agents of Platfirm AI Pty Ltd.
We do not guarantee availability, acceptance of your matter, legal merit, or outcome.
Where paid consultations are available, the fee, duration, included services, and consultation format will be shown before payment.
Unless stated otherwise, a paid consultation does not include drafting, court attendance, tribunal representation, filing, negotiation, or ongoing legal work.
Any further legal work must be agreed directly with the legal professional.
If you provide your email to be notified when Legal Hotline launches in Canada, we will use it to send launch and service-related messages.
Commercial electronic messages will include identification information and an unsubscribe mechanism where required.
Payments are processed by Stripe or another secure provider.
We do not collect or store full payment card details.
Unless different terms are shown at checkout:
Refund requests should be sent to [email protected].
We process personal information as described in our Canadian Privacy Policy.
Unless we tell you otherwise at the start of a call, we do not retain audio recordings. We may create and retain transcripts, summaries, classifications, and metadata.
You must not:
We may refuse service or end access where this clause is breached.
We do not guarantee that information is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your situation.
We do not guarantee that a Canadian legal professional will accept your matter or that you will obtain any particular result.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Platfirm AI Pty Ltd is not liable for loss, damage, missed deadline, adverse legal outcome, or other consequence arising from your use of Legal Hotline or reliance on AI-generated information.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the relevant service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, except to the extent that mandatory Canadian federal, provincial, or territorial laws apply and cannot be excluded.
